Andy: Fast Hitch or quick hitch as you are calling it will work well on the 240. Mounted implements have always worked well on tractors configured like 240, or Fergies, Fords, etc. With the operator moved foreward this gives room for hitch function. Two common faults of fast hitch were, and this first one applied to 3 point as well. When operators seat was positioned almost directly over hitch as in older and larger row crops, hitch did not have room for ideal function. The second item applies to fast hitch and large tractors like 400, 450 and 560. The hitch also being used as drawbar for large pull type implements, didn't stay tight very long. Wear was the big problem on pins and linkage. The smaller tractors were more or less immune to this.
