If you arn't going to use the tractor for heavy tillage, a 656 hydrostatic would be excellent for you. If you are going to do heavy work the 656 gear drive would be an excellent choice. If you want compact profile go with International (utility) rather than Farmall (row crop) version. Plenty of power for you and not too big. IH made an excellent three point backhoe in the 70's but I don't remember the number. I think it would dig about 6 or 7 feet deep. We also sold Howard (same company as rotavator) 3 point backhoes but discontinued selling them when IH came out with their 3 point backhoe. John Deere also had a 3 point backhoe that was about the same as the IH. IMHO you won't go wrong with a 656 for your application. Harold H
