Slorol: My appologies if I left the impression that working with greasy hands was Cowman's habit. I have seen the weathered steering wheels as you suggest. I've also seen many a steering wheel that looked in perfect condition yet if you drove it couple hours your hands were black, pure grease. I have three tractors right now, two of them are clean, the third I know little history on will blacken your hands in 1 hour. I have seen a good many of these over the years, yes currently they may look weathered but dirty hands was the initial problem. And yes I quite agree it may not only be grease.
