We bought a 656 with 3200 hours. Hydro went out right after we bought it. Engine gave problems a year later. We sold it and bought another 656 with 9000 hours. It runs like a champ and we havent had any problems. Hours dont really mean that much to me, its all in how the tractor was used. I assume you are looking at a gear drive diesel? They are nice tractors. The shifting linkage can get worn and cause some nasty shifting, but if I remember correctly you can fix that for about $500. Around here a nice one at auction would probably bring $5500-$6500. Dealers are in the $8000 area.
