The gaskets on my F-12's appear to be asbestos... They are about 1/16" thick (and they probably squished some in the umpteen years they've been on there!), and about 3/4 inch "wide". When I replace them (I am in the middle of painting)I will use some leftover 'thick' gasketing material that I'd gotten from NAPA auto store and use it. If one thickness does not hold the antifreeze from splashing/leaking, I'll add a second layer. I plan to just place the cap on the material, and cut the outside diameter the same size as the cap.Inside diameter does not really matter, but you won't want the material falling into your radiator so trim it up reasonably well. By the way, both of mine have a nut under the cap for a spacer as well. Good luck! Don

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
