I had 1 and the man is right about the loose baling part, but most times you can over adjust it to make it tighten up the bales. If you take your time and roll a tight bale you can live with it. When you bale, stop at about 1/3 of the bale and let it spin a minit, roll another 1/3 stop and roll it a minit. Then when it gets up to the marker for done just sit there and take about 3 minits, just letting it roll fast before you twine it. Biggest thing to watch for is the bearings and roller shafts being wore out, and the floor being wore out or rusted out.. If the bearings are showing much wear I would pass on it.
I would want it to be real cheap in order to be worth while. I only need about 200 per year so mine was never that much trouble, and if you don't cover the hay for storage. No matter what baler. You will have alot of spoilage anyway compared to squares. I prefer squares myself, but its hard to find help anymore to put it up.
If you can find an old 845 or so New Holland I think you would be alot more happy, and they are pretty reasonable to buy and they do better than the IH..
