I had carefully marked everything on the distributer on my 47B before I removed it for cleaning and painting.(The tractor)I guess I was thinking that the engine on a tractor on stands won't be turned over.Well I was wrong! In fact I did it myself to paint all of the front pulley. Now I have a perfectly painted motor with new gaskets that I don't want to remove any parts from to find TDC.Are there any marks on the flywheel or does the way that the crank pulley goes on give any hints to TDC,Or do I need to use the finger in the sparkplug hole trick to get it close and go from there. My wife and I are heading out to the Cowmans country to meet up with our two of our grandkids so they can spend a month or so with us. So if you have the answer for my mistake,I won't be able to thank you until this evening.Thanks,John.
