With a little farmer engineering, many pumps can/could be adapted. There might have been a special pump made for the Cub's non-standard PTO (runs at 1800 RPM, and backwards), but it's just as likely that a resourceful farmer adapted existing technology too. It could have also been driven by a flat belt off the belt pulley. Most PTO-driven roller pumps available today don't care which direction they run, and can run at 540 or 1000 RPM.
