The brakes are fairly easy to work on. Just a few bolts to take off and pull apart. Just replace new pieces in reverse order. Quite commom for these slack adjusters to freeze up and break during adjustment. Check to see how many spacers you have, which will be the thin metal pieces that come off first with the cover. When my slack adjuster broke, I just called our IH Dealer and they carry them in stock. Be sure to replace the springs and rollers balls. When I didn't at first, the springs came back apart and had to stop baling and fix a broken brake spring! If you were just adjusting for more brake pedal, then try it without removing any spacers. If your pedal goes down to far, than try one spacer at a time on both side and count to make them even and re-adjust the brakes so both match in height.Make sure you press both brakes down without the middle piece that hold both brake together so you get them even! Very important for being safe so you don't pull to one side! If your disc brakes are worn, replace all. Blow out all of the black brake dust and wear a mask to advoid breathing the dust!
