I think most of the those old tractors that could run on kerosene had a small tank that contained gasoline and the engine was started on gasoline
and was switched to kerosene after the engine was warmed up. The 10-20 McCormick Deering had this feature. We had one of these tractors, but we always ran it on gasoline. The main fuel tank
contained the kerosene and they usually would switch back to gas before stopping the engine.
This made the engine easier to start the next time
the tractor was used.

We had a guy that filled up his car by mistake with diesel fuel and he was wondering why the car was smoking so much until he realized what he had done. Hal
