bill: You are not completely correct, and not wrong either. From 1946 to 1962 Oliver and Cockshutt each produced their own tractor. They did however use the same IPTO unit. The Nebraska Test lab recognizes Cockshutt as the first tractor tested at Nebraska having IPTO. Rumours have always been that Oliver already had 300 model 88 tractors in the field with IPTO, however they never advertized that. If you do a bit of exploration, I think you will find Patent belonged to Cockshutt.
