that's not bad, just use I-69 to drop south instead of U.S. 24. Save a little toll and miles and get off at route 49 to take US20 across to I-69. Route 24 is not bad west of ft wayne, take it across to 55 and drop around to 74 it is worth the extra distance. you won't miss anything other than the signs for Raegan's birthplace bypassing chicago. The air is so bad there it gives me a sore throat. As far as the heavy truck traffic once you get out of illinois traffic cuts loose and it's not bad at all.
