Mike, That tractor has two ignition circuits. One fer starting (a full 12 volts) and a "run" side in which the voltage is cut to prevent point burn. The 12 volt feed is fed from the "other wire" at starter solenoid. When the starter buttom is released, feed is from the ignition switch only. Therefore, the problem lies somewhere between the primary negative coil terminal and the switch or the switch itself. Take your test light and start back tracin'. You'll find it. Allan
