The more I remember about the one we had, the top link was adjustable. You should be able to fabricate something. It was like a piece of all-thread with a U-shaped bracket on each end. The "U" brackets each had a pin inserted, one for the implement (the normal top hitch) and the other into the top of the hitch conversion. The all-thread provided some adjustment for connecting the equipment and/or to adjust the equipment height somewhat the same as the normal link. You have already figured out you will not have the same amount of adjustments. So goes trying to convert 2 pt to 3 pt.
