300 utility PTO slipping

I was brush hogging a field that hasn"t been brush hogged yet this year so it was really high. Mostly grass and weeds.I was about half way done with the field when the PTO shaft slowed down and I could hear a strange sound coming from the back of the tractor. I have let some of the fields get this high other years and never had this problem before. Once I got back over the cut areas the shaft picked up to normal speed. I only went maybe about 50 yards with the PTO slipping like that, hope I didn"t ruin anything.? I know that there are two screws back by the shaft that can be ajusted, but I don"t know how. Can anybody tell me how to adjust them? Or what I should do. thanks a million guys!!
