Well it is more to do with the fact that I can convert to 12 volt cheaper than I can repair the shot 6 volt system in the tractor now. I already have a couple of alternators and good 12 volt batterys on hand and even found a NOS still in the box 12 volt coil in the barn. I would rather keep the 6 volt system in tack but this tractor mow's the grass every week and I really need it running and reliable cause everyone knows that the grass don't stop growing cause the tractor won't run! Normaly I am a stickler to the old adage! If it aint broke don't fix it! but in this case I got to keeper going! Thanks for the info and I will keep the old parts for later conversion back.
