True but most of the time the seaps in so slowly that it goes down past the rings and into the pan before you ever get other there to start it. Does it over night in msot cases and by the time you get back to it the tank is dry and the gas is in the pan. Had it happen to me one time and wouldn't have noticed but there was a big spot under the tractor of what looked like oil the had come out if the dip stick tube. Engine would turn over but no gas in the tank just a lot of oil and gas in the pan.
