Had the same problem with the M&W hand clutch on my MD so I ordered new clutch disks thinking this was my problem. Put them in and it worked ok for a while then started slipping again. It turns out that the timkin bearing was rusty and started wearing out. They wanted $1,500 for the bearing. I put the old disks back in and drilled 4 holes through the plates and disks and bolted them together with 1/2" hardened bolts. The clutch part don't work anymore but it doesn't slip eather. If I can find a used clutch with a good timkin bearing, then I will put it back the way it was.
