Kelly: Don't get hung up on these combine engines. I know what your thinking (706) right or wrong? I'd look for a D-360 or DT-360 out of a truck. Probably one of the best diesels IH ever turned out. I've never heard of a 766 or early 886 that turned out to be a lemon. IH have been putting that engine in S-line trucks since the mid 70s. Got to be a million of them kicking around North America. The S line was not built to outlast those engines. Go and buy a running truck with the 360, switch engines and resell the truck.
