Several suggestions. 1.Jack up the front axle to take the weight off the front wheels. See how free the steering seems. 2.With the front jacked up, lubricate the front spindle area, working the steering from side to side to free up old grease. 3.With the front end jacked up, concentrate on getting a lot of lubricant--perhaps even light oil at first into the area where the front axle rests and pivots at each wheel. 4. With the front end jacked up, you might even pull the steering rod from the gear box, and just work each wheel by hand, to determine if its stiff. 5. With the steering rod loose from the front wheel, turn the steering wheel and rod to check for binding or stiffness in the gear box. 6. Make sure tires are inflated to rec'd pressure. 7. I've found that old tractors and old grease can make for hard effort from the operator. Thus, doing your best to work free the 'joints' with lighter lubricant or even solvent flushing, where possible, will enable you to put in fresh grease an
