Pete: I think your dreaming, pto did change during production, with dismal sales they did try offering 3 point hitch as opposed to fast hitch. I expect if an engine mounted pump was added it was done by a dealer to give a separate pump for a loader. Companies were big on that in that era.

Now I've never seen a whole lot of 340s Utility or Farmall but then there were less than 20,000 of them worldwide. Just another case of IH flogging a dead horse or was it fast hitch too long.
