I looked at all makes and models before I decided on 2004 2500 HD Duramax GMC. I liked the front end styling a little better on the GMC. I absolutely love the truck and pull a 25000GVW tandem dually trailer loaded with 16000 lbs of tractor and weights and yes I pull over the mountains of Wa. and Or. Grossing nearly 27000 lbs total and consistently checking fuel at 12 to 13 loaded and 17 to 18 empty. The ride is very good and the Extended cab gives me the room I need without getting so stretched out with the crew cab. I do have the long box 8' so I'm right at 51 feet total. I do think the cummins motor is a great engine but was not convinced that Dodge had the transmission to hold up under heavy pulling. Automatic that is. Just my opinion.Migraine
