I have done the same thing with an H and it has less room than an M. I am also using the original pull-cable-to-stop mag. I made an adaptor out of 1" thick aluminum plate that offsets the oil filter. The breather pipe had to be relocated as well. The oil filter can also be mounted elsewhere on the tractor by using a stand alone spinoff and running hoses from an adaptor. This would be similar to some trucks applications. I think my Dodge Cummins is like that.

I used a Behlin pump and a M&W pump. I forget which is which but one pump replaces what the IH parts book calls "BRACKET, Distributor or Magneto". This saves four or so inches. I put a support on the mag due to the leverage. I used a timing gear out of a 300. I did the whole thing for chuckles. It is not a hard working tractor.
