Mark - can't give specific advice on mounting at 10 SI onto a 460. However on most conversions you can modify (bend) the existing generator tension bracket to work with an alternator. The only difference between 1 wire and 3 wire Delco alternators is the internal regulator. Consequently you can buy a 3-wire regulator and install it convert a 1-wire alternator to a 3-wire. Swapping regulators on a 10 SI is relatively simple, and can be accomplished without removing the alternator from the engine. A new regulator is less than $10.
