If you are comparing a tractor with loader vs an engine hoist for lifting things,there is no comparison.The cherry picker works by lifting only a fraction of an inch at a time.The loader will jerk and be a nightmare to control.If you are pulling an engine,you will have a safer and easier time with the hoist.Those fold up ones dont take as much space up as you might think,just the footprint of the 4 caster wheels when the extended legs are raised.
