Dixieland is correct, there is an oval shaped hole on the bottom of the bell housing and should have a cover. Over 50 years or so, it may not have survived. Later models had a starter hole that should have a cover too if the starter wasn"t used. FYI, the A is a close cousin and should have the access hole also if you spot the more numerous A.
