IH 309 plow questions

Thanks for any answers on this. I have a fasthitch # 309 plow I believe. It has the very old style moldboards. Could not the newer Super Chief moldboards be used if the main mounting holes to the plow beam, be the same ? This is only a 14 inch cut plow, and being so worn on the old style shares, I thought a bit of update could be done?
Or....... I might trade for something a bit newer. This plow is re-painted, and looks very nice, not sprung, cut, or damaged. Please let me hear something ??
