Lots of good questions...I never used one. My dad spent a lot of time on one riding the sorting table as a kid, however. He said that the H was definitely not the better of the two to use! The 100 inch axle needed for installation tended to snap in half quite regularly. The bigger axle for the M was much sturdier. I guess you didn't need the extension plate....everything fits without it... Mark
