On the serial number plate,there are different option codes that the tractor could have come with.One code for example may end with a code"x1" which means it is a"gas model".Then another code could read"x1n" which meant "gas model for 8000 ft. altitude,low,low speed,seven mph fourth speed gears".My advice,if you want to know what a certain code means,order the book"Farmall Letter Series Tractor" by Guy Fay.There is a list of different codes and what they mean on pages 9-11.
