Another farmer killed in vintage tractor accident

Hey all, I know nobody want to hear bad news, but it seems to me that this sort of story should be fresh in our minds when using our antique (and other) tractors. Just a few miles from my house, a retired farmer was killed yesterday when he was trying to pull his antique tractor onto his trailer to take to the Vintage Farm Progress Show in Rantoul, IL. It seems that it slid off the side of the trailer, and he was pinned beneath it. It's easy to forget the danger that these machines can pose when not handled with care, and even when handled with care. I was just doing the same thing as this guy a few weeks ago, when the tractor slipped and slid sideways a bit on the trailer. Luckily, it didn't fall off, but who is to say why mine didn't and his did. Hopefully his experience will cause one of us to use that little extra care, and maybe unknowingly save our life or anothers. Let's all enjoy our tractors, but do it safely. No reason to die for a hobby. Darren
