Gas tax here is listed right on the pumps - 46% of pump price. At CAD$1.07/liter, that works out to US$4.41/USgallon. 46% of that is US$2.03/gal. "They" say it's supposed to go to road maintenance, but in reality, nothing is spent on any highway other than the TransCanada. Where I live it's so bad that we have 60kph (40mph) speed limits on a major highway because thwe potholes are so bad. I's just a cash grab by government to pay for their pensions.
