That part # is for the screw in brass screen filter/fitting,and not an inline filter.Check your line at the carb (where it screws in) and unscrew that brass fitting and see if the screen is still intact.Usually it gets poked thru after 50 years of getting clogged so it wont clog again..but sends crap to the carb instead.My 300U had the screen poked thru and junk in the sediment bowl.Amazing it ran as well as it did.You shouldnt need an additional filter....inline.You have 2 already (sediment bowl,and the carb screen).
