I would think that there'd have to be some sort of coolant drain on the block... They didn't have antifreeze back then, or at least farmers couldn't afford it. They would fill the block with plain water only when they were using the tractor, then drain the radiator and block afterwards... At least that's what my Dad told me.

His M and my H have pipe plugs on the left side of the block behind the carburetor, not petcocks.
