My manual doesn't mention any washers when pulling the head. Why do you think the stud height is wrong? Set the head on the block and see if you have enough threads for a full nut and don't forget to allow enough threads for the head gasket. That way you can determine if the studs
are at the correct height. This is why we recommend everyone take pictures and video before disassembly and to separate engine parts as you remove them and place into individual boxes. Reassembly goes a lot smoother. Hal
