I'm ready to start putting my H transmission back together again; fresh bearings and seals.Decided I should replace the reverse idler gear bushings while I'm in there. Was wondering which end to tap the shaft out from?? I noticed there is plug (looks like a frost plug) on the front wall of the transmission. If this plug was out, the hole would line up perfectly with the idler gear shaft and you would have more room to tap it, working through that hole. Am I way off base??? Anyone done this lately?
