on the 06 series, the top cover on the range trans gets worn after 40 some years of use, and with all the play, it does not engage the shifting forks all the way. your top cover could probably use a rebuild, we own a salvage yard and we rebuild or sell lots of parts for these. all the parts are available through hy-capacity and most salvage yards could probably help you out, darin
