Glad to hear you have almost finished the A. Serial Numbering for H is: FBH is for Farmall H, 248818 means is was built in 1947 (241143-268990, 1X (X1?) X1 means it is a gas engine.
There is a good book out titled "International Harvester Tractor Data Book" written by Guy Fay that explains it all!!
