Cheryl: I may not be first or second, but KB and the vet are both right. These must be adjusted by the book and to the letter, close doesn't count. In short what will fix your current problem is to shorten the short linkage between clutch shaft and TA shaft. Technically what that linkage does is shift TA to low side as you depress the clutch. You are currently having to do this manually with TA lever. Now, with haste order yourself a manual and have it dead on, your future repair bills will be much lower.
