About a week ago I was mowing at night with my 460 Utility. All of a sudden the lights went dim and the amp guage showed discharge, then it died. It still has the generator-voltage regulator set-up. I replaced the voltage regulator, coil, resistor, and some old wires that were in bad shape. Now it will start right up, show about 15 on the amp guage for about 30 seconds, then go to 0 on the guage, and die. If I turn the lights on it goes to -15 on the guage and dies. My next thought is to replace the solenoid on the starter. There has been a couple times where the starter has not worked. Am I on the right track or not? Please help! Thank you! P.S. Sometimes while it was running if I put a jumper wire from the BAT terminal to the GEN terminal on the voltage regultor it would start charging, then quit after a few seconds. I did polarize the regulator (generator) when I replaced it. Sorry about the length of this, but I tried to include as much as I could.
