Farmall H pto shaft broken

I broke the pto shaft inside of the transmition yesterday bailing greenfeed. When shiftng into gear it doesn't feel right and of corse the pto doesn't turn. Has any one else had this problem before and what is the most commen part that breaks. From what I under stand that there are 2 diffrent types of pto shafts for this tractor, an updated style ? Does any one know if I can take parts from a diffrent model of tractor and get it to work? The other problem from before is that the trans jumps out of 5th gear, sugestions on fixing that too.
