I leave the 806 pluged in 24-7 cause of emergency situations. For instance if power failur in need a tractor on the generator. When its cold an 806 is'nt going to start with out being pluged in. I start a 300 every day to run the tmr mixer and feed cows. The 300 dosen't have a heater. The 300 is'nt big enough to run the generator. The only bad thing about leaving it pluged in all the time is electric cost. As far as using 15w40 it is to thick when it is -30. 10w30 is even to thick when it's that cold. I use to use 15w40 and did'nt like it.
