I'd at least try everything else first.
If you remove the cover at the rear of the belly pump you might can see where the oil is coming from.
It's not impossible that you might could replace the seal on the input shaft wothout dropping the pump.
Also, it could be leaking around one or more of the pipes that screw into the sides. Try cleaning up their threads and some teflon tape, careful to keep it out of the system.
