Three Items to always do. Shut off the fuel at the sediment bowl valve after using the tractor. Even if you will use it within the hour. Purchase a manual From this site, the Dealer, or Ebay. and use it often, especially for lubrication requirments. Except run 10-40, or 15-40 oil in the crank case. Change again after the first 15 hours. Mainain the brakes so they can stop the wheels (slide) when you need to stop fast, but are controlable. Three Things not to do. Do not lug the engine below 2/3 of its wide open but non-loaded speed when using the tractor hard. light loads are not included in this rule, gear up throttle down when doing light tasks. Do not operate at dangerous angles, especially on side hills. Depending on the tractors wheel width setting on the axles, front wheel layout, and extra weights on the tractor or fluid in the tires, these can roll over on 25% slopes or less. do not risk it. Do not operate a bush hog type mower without a over running clutch in the drive line. (available from tractor/farm stores or Equipment dealers). It is not safe to use (especially for a novice), the spinning mower will continue to drive the tractor forward even if with the clutch down. It acts like a flywheel and will send you and the tractor into trouble. This fact is not unique to these tractors, it is true for most with transmission driven PTO. This forum will assist you in enjoying one of the worlds best tractors. Simple, direct acting, fixable, fun, stylish, powerful for its size, reliable, and FUN (again) Congrats and welcome to the site. JimN
