Well, the farmer who owns the 706 bought it for a little over 2K..and thought that if he put maybe another 2K into the tractor he would have himself something. One repair led to another and when all said and done he spent close to 9K..He now wants 7K for the tractor..only reason I am seriously considering is because I know who did all the work on it and he is a top notch mechanic, does not cut corners and replaces old parts with new IH parts..tractor is real nice...as most of you said it is what you (I) want to spend and what it is worth to me. I doubt that I'll will be able to get my money out of it someday. Maybe..however I am not overly concerned. To buy a new tractor like this you are looking at maybe 20 to 25k...and it wouldn't be a Farmall. Thanks all for your input.
