Resistance for a mag coil secondary should be somewhere in the 1,000 to 2,500 ohms range or so.

Your DVM reading of 11+ megohms says the coil secondary is open circuited. (I'm presuming you're measuring resistance between the coil output and the mag frame/ground here...)

So before tearing into the rotor/magnet assembly in the guts of the mag I'd first replace that coil!
