Joe, that is what we refer to as the "belly pan" You likely have a leak at the driveshaft seal or the drive for the "belly pump", the hydraulic pump. Either of these seals are easy to change. If you have hydraulics then it is more of a job, you have to take the pump out first. There are three bolts at either end of the drive shaft, remove the drive shaft and you can get at the seal. You unscrew the flange, then carefully pick out the old seal and tap in a new one. The new I-H seals are about half as wide as the original but are made of polyethelene base and will do the job. A small block of wood is good to tap the new seal into place. The same applies to the pump drive seal if it is leaking, then reassemble everything. Its not an impossible job, sometimes getting the old seals out is nerve wracking. I find the most success with picking chisels and punch. I try to get a punch in between the seal and the wall of the transmission and collapse the seal that way and then pull with needle nose pliers. Get a Blue Ribbon Service Training manual, it pretty much explains the process, but as I said its not a bad job except if you have a hydraulic pump...good luck, ask if you need help and lots of guys here will help you...Mike in Exeter Ontario
