Mike, thanks for the update. I just replaced my original carb on my new-to-me '49 Super A after I saw the inside, full of crud and rust, and a missing float where the previous owner had wired a piece of plastic in place. Needless to say, it was leaking gas too. But I haven't fired-up the new one yet, so I'll keep an eye out for that same problem you had. I just got my governor back yesterday, which had so much slop that I had to push the throttle a third before I got any response. I'm darn near a governor-expert now, so if you run into any problems with that, ping me on e-mail, but if you do, title it "Super A", because I get so many offers for stocks, meds, dates, and enlargements that I might delete it by accident.
