I read in an earlier post that an extra hole in the hood of an "M" was most likely for a smaller gas tank used for starting a disilitte motor on gas. I looked and sure enough I have that hole. There appears to be a place for mounting a smaller tank but no connections going to the carb. My "M" is a 1947 model, is it most likely originally a disillite model that has been converted to all gas and if so how can I tell? Should I be running a different type of fuel? I currently have 93 octane gas in the tank and it seems to be running fine but if you just read my previous post you will note that I just got the tractor running Sunday and I haven't ran it for any extendend period of time yet as I am waiting until I can finish tuning it up. I'm gonna call the previous owner and see if he can give me some insight to this question. The serial # plate on the tractor is missing so that wont help.
