Hi Casper, if you are not a knotter expert, I would sell the IH 46 for scrap. The 46 was a much improved baler over the 45 but the knotters still required skilled TLC to keep them running 100%. The 46 had the best pickup and hay capacity for the mid sized baler 40 years ago but it had the worst knotter. JD and NH were 100 times better knotter. The problem was the IH knotters tied a bow knot and the JD and NH only did a simple knot, so IH was much more complicated and everything had to be perfect to tie the bow properly.

My 2 cents from someone that rode on the twine boxes of a 45 tiing the missed bales and then worked on a 46 knotters for many years.
