Yeah, I kind of figured that the hydraulic TA worked like that, needing hyd pressure. I"m not sure that I agree entirely about tow starting. When an engine has compression as bad as this one, towing will get more speed on the engine, more compression, more heat, and it will build oil pressure which can help seal leaky rings. I"ve started things before by towing that didn"t want to start otherwise. There"s no question that the engine is sick though. And you"re right about the mechanical TA needing to be ahead. I don"t know what i was thinking! I just wish that I could get it running to see of the TA needed anything before the $ drain begins. Paul
